How Will the Funds Be Used?
The Career and Technical Education (CTE) center will serve as an “in-house” Anthis Career Center, giving students access to career-based training while still providing valuable pathways for those pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree. By offering these programs in-house, students no longer need to travel downtown to take advantage of these valuable courses, making career and technical education a more accessible and realistic option for a greater number of students. Students who may have previously missed out on opportunities due to transportation, extra- curricular, or other academic demands will have a greater opportunity to explore career based training in the high school setting.
Running a new building takes more than walls—it requires teachers, counselors, instructional assistants, custodians, and support staff. While referendum dollars won’t fund construction, they are essential for staffing and programs that will prepare students for success beyond graduation.
If the referendum does not get approved, there is no ability for this impactful project to move forward.
Staff and Operate a New CTE Building
The table highlights both the current programs offered at Carroll High School and the proposed additions. With the referendum, not only will NACS be able to sustain these highly regarded programs, but we will also expand opportunities to serve more students. These new programs are designed to help students seamlessly transition into the workforce or continue their education in a 2- or 4-year degree program after graduation.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is essential for preparing students for the future. By adding a dedicated STEM teacher in every elementary school, students will gain hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and build problem-solving skills at an early age.

Adding STEM adds to the related arts rotation, giving classroom teachers daily planning time. This time is used to design engaging lessons, review student data, and connect with families so every child receives the support they need.

Offer Competitive Salaries to Retain Teachers and Instructional Assistants
Great schools start with great teachers. But teacher burnout and turnover are very real. By offering competitive salaries, NACS can retain high-quality, experienced educators, ensuring consistency and stability for students. Retaining great teachers means stronger classrooms, stronger learning, and stronger communities.
