Your Financial Impact
It’s important for you to clearly understand the financial impact of saying YES!
Below is a summary of what the referendum would mean for the average household in our community.
For detailed breakdown of your financial contribution, please visit the impact calculator linked below.
Use the charts provided to see a quick estimate of how your taxes may be impacted in 2026 if the referendum is approved.
All calculations are based on the difference between 2025 property taxes and the estimated 2026 taxes with the referendum. For most families in our district, the additional cost is modest compared to the value of increased school safety, doubling our CTE programing to create immediate pathways to well-paying, high-demand jobs, increased pay for all working groups— including teachers, instructional support staff, cafeteria workers, and custodial staff.
For example:
In Lake Township and Huntertown Township, a home valued at $300,000 would see an estimated net increase of about $9.20 per month.
In Perry Township, the same home value would result in about $10.55 per month net increase.
You can calculate your exact financial impact using the Referendum Impact Calculator. Be sure to select your correct tax district and home value.

Gross Assessed Value
Gross Assessed Value (GAV) is the county’s assessed value of your — basically what the county says your home is worth for tax purposes. It’s the starting point for figuring your property taxes, before deductions or exemptions are applied.
2025 Tax Amount
The total tax bill paid for 2025.
Estimated tax bill for 2026. This includes deductions and credits from Senate Enrolled Act 1 that begin in 2026. This will make your tax liability decrease and lower your annual tax bill.
** An important note: Due to the deductions from Senate Enrolled Act 1, total income from property tax to the school district will also decrease. This will add to the gap in funding that we are already experiencing. When all aspects of Senate Enrolled Act 1 are in place, it is predicted that income to the Operations fund will decrease by about 1 million dollars.
2026 Tax Amount
2026 Predicted Referendum Contribution
This is the maximum amount of levied dollars per year your homestead would contribute over the 8 year life of the referendum.
** If the referendum is approved, NACS will not request the full amount of the referendum in the first year. This is because they do not need the staff for the CTE building until that project is completed.
This can be shown through the current budget proposal for 2026-2027 that is up for approval at the October 6, 2025 board meeting. The budget was first presented to the board on September 22, 2025.
